Naturopathic Medicine

What is a Naturopathic Doctor’s Role?

The naturopathic doctor is a primary care physician, which means he/she can be your first point of care when you have a medical problem. NDs are trained  to take an extensive medical history, perform a physical examination, and review all relevant medical tests (such as lab work or imaging) before reaching a diagnosis and treatment plan for each patient. Many NDs work alongside medical doctors to support patients who have limited medical options and to educate those patients that require a health coach. All NDs take an oath to practice in accordance to the principles of Naturopathic Medicine.
